Basements
Sansom fields many enquiries regarding leaking basement walls and floors. Leaking is likely to be due to:
- Failed tanking membrane beneath the ground on the outside face
- Movement within the basement wall and floors causing stress on the tanking membrane
- Penetrations for cables or drainage pipe work being inadequately sealed.
- Blocked field drainage systems
A range of solutions are available, but by far the best solution is to excavate and apply a meaningful tanking membrane to exterior wall, and ensure ground drainage systems are functioning.
Repair systems from the interior face include:
- Grouting voids beyond the wall
- Injecting resins into the matrix of the walls and floor
- Coating of the walls with a specialised epoxy coating
